Elanora have been extremely fortunate in receiving a major grant from the Education and Care Unit (ECU), of which we applied for in 2019, to fund the redevelopment of the outdoor environment in our Dancing Dolphins, 3 – 5-year-old age group.
This has seen the transformation of the outdoor environment from the outdated and well- worn plastic equipment to very natural, tranquil and open- ended play spaces. This has enhanced the children’s learning as we now have an environment that scaffolds the children’s individual skills and abilities.
The work started in October 2019 and was completed early in December. As you can see from the photos, it certainly passed the fun test with the children from Dancing Dolphins who spend lots of time outside in the fresh air enjoying their new play area.
As part of the same grant, Elanora’s ‘Toddlin’ Turtles’ outdoor environment will also be upgraded this year. Stay tuned for an update as this happens!
